No. Genealapp is designed so that anyone can start from scratch and build their family history step by step.
Can I use Genealapp on both my phone and computer? +
Yes. With Premium, you can use both the Android app and the web version while keeping your data synchronized.
Can I import/export my family tree? +
Yes. At any time, you can export your family tree as a GEDCOM file from 'Settings'. You can also import a GEDCOM file.
How can I upgrade to Premium? +
You can upgrade from your profile at any time with a single click. To upgrade to premium, you must have previously logged in with Google
Can I cancel my subscription at any time? +
Yes, you can cancel at any time without any penalty. From the 'Manage subscription' section, you can cancel your subscription or update your payment details
How does the premium subscription work? +
The Premium subscription costs €1.99 per month and is billed automatically every month. It renews monthly until you decide to cancel it. You can cancel at any time from the “Manage subscription” section with no penalties. Once activated, you get immediate access to all premium features
Is my data secure? +
Yes. If you have Premium, your data is securely stored in the cloud so you can access it from any device. If you don't have Premium, all your data is stored locally on your device. In both cases, we do not use your personal data for any purpose other than providing the service
What happens to my data if I delete the app or switch devices? +
If you have Premium, all your data is automatically backed up to the cloud, so you can restore it by signing in on any device. If you don't have Premium, your data is stored only locally on your device, and deleting the app will permanently erase it. In that case, you can export a GEDCOM file containing your entire family tree and import it again later
Can I import/export my family tree? +
Yes. At any time, you can export your family tree as a GEDCOM file from 'Settings'. You can also import a GEDCOM file.
